Sanding
A uniform sanding pattern across the entire surface is absolutely necessary for an even appearance. Final sanding up to maximum grain 120. After the surface and edges have been sanded, it is essential to sand the entire surface again completely with the same abrasive: For this, we recommend the glimtrex® multi-hole sanding disc (grain 120). This produces, in conjunction with a single-disc machine, a uniform sanding pattern across the entire surface.
Only when the entire surface has been uniformly sanded is a consistent colored oil application possible.
Attention: With non-uniform sanding, differences in color intensity between the center and edge areas are possible, as most edge sanders work at high revolutions and sand the edges very finely even if – as on the rest of the floor – the same grit was used. The edge area is then usually less color-intensive than the rest of the floor.
Cloud formation is also possible with uneven sanding, as color pigments penetrate less intensively in more finely sanded areas.

Colored Oil Application
For smaller rooms, 3 methods have proven effective for application:

The colored oil is applied with a spatula and shortly afterwards padded in residue-free with the glimtrex® violet pad. This pad allows for uniform polishing due to its special structure. Excess oil in the edge areas should be removed with a piece of pad or lint-free cotton cloth. For larger rooms or in extreme heat, it is advisable to work in sections.

The colored oil should be brushed uniformly and in the direction of the wood grain using a floor brush.

Apply the colored oil residue-free manually with a lint-free cotton cloth and polish it out.

For larger rooms: In addition to the methods mentioned above, there are the following comfortable options for large areas:
This requires 2 pad machines and at least 2, preferably 3 people. The first pad machine works with the glimtrex® violet pad. A small circle is cut out from the center of the pad and filled with colored oil. This is roughly driven in so that small oil excesses remain on the surface. The violet pad is repeatedly "refilled" with oil. After about 10 minutes, one employee follows with the second pad machine (equipped with the violet glimtrex® pad) and pads in the colored oil leaving no residue.
During this time, the third employee removes excesses in the edge areas and corners with a piece of pad or cotton cloth.
